.... but this really shows you what the hierarchy of the Republicans think would be a safe bet. (or buy in according to their politics)
Dude and GOP (Grand Old Party)??? Do they know what they represent, anyone else actually know that the republican party spawned from the northern states? How can you be the Grand Old Party in an apparently democratic state... doesn't that imply it was a dictatorship previously? Could you imagine FF calling themselves BhB (Back-hander-bouys?)

| Night before Gaelcon... |
[22 Oct 2008|11:08pm] |
There will be a traditional night before Gaelcon, but not in the usual location, this year we will be in Cassidy's of Westmoreland Street. (It's just off O'Connell bridge, opposite to the now closed down Bewleys'). People will be floating in and out all night so come along as see some old friends before a weekend of madness and gaming!
Hope to see you there!

Slicing the top of your index finger off, creates a difficulty to type, let alone the creation of a wild west town for Legends of the Old West. Bugger.

| More online Games maddness |
[28 Nov 2006|12:47am] |
....this week I have most been playing....
Warhammer : Mark of Chaos, which is amazing. It totally kicks Dawn of War's ass! Seriously, the entire engine is alot better. Check it out.
Also, another game to add to my collection of online games (hattrick.org & The Kingdom of Loathing) is Sea Fight. In Sea Fight, you get to be a pirate sailing the seven seas n kickin' ass and ripping off Jack Sparrow! Granted I've literally been playing it for a, well a few minutes now, it looks to be quite addictive.

So it’s been a couple of days since the convention, and I’m still on a high from it! Maybe it’s because I was running it, but I had an amazing time! There was an amazing vibe running throughout the convention. But anyways, there are a lot of people I’d like to personally thank. I’d like to thank all of my committee, who were wonderful and always tried to be one step ahead of me. The staff, who not only worked hard but also enjoyed themselves.
I was especially pleased that Tom Murphy and I were able to hand over the Diana Jones award on behalf of everyone to Colm Lundberg and Fiki. Those guys do a lot for the Charity Auctions in Ireland and truly deserved to be recognized for doing so! And while I’m on the topic of the Charity Auction, once again thank you to EVERYONE who donated money and helping raise a mind blowing €27,310!
I’m not going to bore people by giving a blow-by-blow account of everything but wow! Thank you all for such a great and unforgettable weekend!

So Gaelcon is only a few hours away. Am I meant to be nervous? Nah... tho the frequency of my dreams have increased dramatically. Four Gaelcon related dreams this week.
Why amn't I nervous? Well coz everything is in place, the stars have aligned, and the beers lined up.
Only a few minor things to get done tonight, but after that it's really out of my hands.
For those of you who see this, there will be the traditional drinks in Fibbers. I'll be there from 9pm on wards (hopefully not too late) ;)
See you guys at the con!

Gaelcon will be over.
It's a scary thought, but with it brings many more emtions, excitment, terror, fondness, worry, saddness, happiness and pressure. There's alot involved in Gaelcon, I know some may think Gaelcon just happens but nothing just happens, not even meeting up with your mates in the pub. Gaelcon is a much bigger get-to-gether and has alot more going on. There's over 90 events happening over the weekend. Thats at least 30 a day that we know about. There are 25 staff to look after, at least 60 gms every slot, 13 committee to keep happy, and roughly 500 people to entertain....
and do you think we're ready?
I do. One of things about this Gaelcon is we're going to try new things, if it doesn't work, we can draw a line under it and write it off and still run a great convention. However, if the ideas do work, boy oh boy, we're in for one of the most professional conventions ever!
Me, myself, am confident it will be a great success!
So, if your reading this and are still unsure about turning up to Gaelcon, stop thinking. Just come along to the con, relax and enjoy yourself... there are other people there who are going to be far more worried about the 'success' of the con!

I'm currently sick at the moment with my standard September-Headcold. I'm not greatly happy about this, but if it means that I get it out of the way before Gaelcon, it's all good.
This though, I hate being sick. :(
